[Electric Boats] Battery pack voltages

 

The OZecoDrive setup uses a 24 volt battery pack, whereas most of the other off-the-shelf setups use higher voltages. I understand it's all about Watts, but what are the upsides/downsides of the 24 volt system?
It seems it would give one the option of having a lot smaller battery bank if you only needed it for docking etc.
