Well, I was just thinking and asking myself what might have been the reference point for your sound readings, since db is a relative thing, and I re-read your post. Honestly, I don't think it's all that loud, with your app showing 60db as the ambient noise level. I am sure that there are noisier systems around that are pushing boats about just fine. But you got me curious and next time I do a speed run I will be equipped to measure my motor noise, too. I have been just ignoring it except for overhauling my wiring when I got tired of poor hall effect sensor connections causing the motor to stutter. Sigh. One more thing to get all anal about, I guess.
