I'm not familiar with the hardware you have but I have two 80 amp mppt charge controllers regululating 5500W of solar and a 20 amp, 48v smart charger that I run off a Honda EU 2000. I've had occasion to run them simultaneosly during periods of low solar energy and have never had any problems what so ever.I've even run the propulsion system at night at low amps almost exclusively off the generator run smart charger. Not very fast but got us where we were going.

Just joined the list and absorbing as much as I can. Wish I found
the list earlier in my process.
Starting a conversion of a 32ft sailboat. Using the Thunderstruck
10Kw kit with belt reduction, 4x4D AGM for 200AHr @48V of storage,
just bought a Noco Genius gen4 to keep the batteries topped off
dockside, and planning on 5x100w solar panels in series feeding a
Victron BlueSolar 150/35. Got everything but the solar bits at hand,
waiting for space at the boatyard to get towed from the mooring,
hauled out and start removing the (nonfunctional) diesel bits.
Question: Could I have omitted the Noco charger, and used an
inexpensive 60V 1Kw DC power supply to feed power into the Victron for
charging dockside? Seems like asking for trouble having two
intelligent charge controllers permanently tied to the batteries even
if only one would be active at a time. How would the MPPT system
interact with a DC power supply feeding it instead of solar panels?
How are other people running generators to charge batteries at sea?
Would it confuse the "smart" solar charger to tie a 56V power supply
direct to the batteries? Are the smart battery chargers confused by
the load of the motor/house in use?
I chose the Noco for easy monitoring of individual battery health,
but now wondering if I have made my first error, before even starting.
