Eric's right. Six knots is there on a good day on my boat too. That's why I'm not depending on regen for much charging. But, now that I've seen it work on my boat I will be looking for it more often. I never planned on it to provide much if any power. but, I'm also a watch the pennies and let the dollars take care of themselves kind of guy. I'll take any amps I can. Especially if I can get them without burning fuel that I have to pay for. Regarding prop slip. I've always felt that the best way to start to move an electrically propelled boat is to start off by turning the prop very slowly and then slowly increase the motor speed as the boat gains momentum.
