I think cheap is not good drill, and batteries are very weak. Basis of trolling motor is a strong battery ; even for the canoe should be at least 12V/17Ah.I made 5 years ago 4 trolling motor from aircraft engines for 24v petrol pump, I was used the battery 12V/12AH + 2 x 6v/12Ah, 2 speed, 18v/24v.The engines were in armor, in water, for better cooling and to not burden the small canoe
