What you're considering could be done. It's a lot like what I'm hoping to build someday soon.
You're just going to need to start thinking about details and maybe trim your project a down little.
Things like: Why do you need a diesel AND generators?
You could easily run four 100 amp automobile alternators off a 4 horse lawn mower engine.
There's a lot of ways to generate power, you could supplement a solar array with turbines that were driven by wind or water.
I don't mean to discourage you.
