[Electric Boats] Ideal electrification system

 

I have seen a ton of postings here for a myriad of self-built electrification systems, but is there any one "best" system for a small sailboat or inboard conversion?

Motors: Mars, Torquedo or other brand?
Transmission: gears, belts, shaft pulleys?
Batteries: Led-acid, LiFEPO4, Lithium (other)
Chargers: Brand, etc
Controller, Sevcon, Curtis, other brands?

Any other issues; ground separation, EMI
