Thank you, electric boats, conversion, and boat building are all completely new to me

I'm originally from Hawaii and have spent most of my adult life recreationally sailing. Now living land-locked in Florida and have got to get back on the water. Have owned many sailboats and now its time to build my own, that I plan to modify somewhat. Have just now received the plans for a Steve Redmond designed 'Whisp", 15'-7", Ultralight Flat-bottomed Sharpie skiff. Also have a Evinrude outboard electric trolling motor(motor only, PN:128273) that I want to hull mount. Whisp design intended for portage and rowing. Am now 81 yrs old and will need the electric assist to get home when the human power gives out. Just don't like the look of an outboard stuck on the stern of a beautiful hull design. At this moment have no idea of how to mount this motor. Dreaming of some sort of inboard motor well mount that I might somehow elevate for the shallows. I have a whole lot to learn. Fortunately have a fully equipped woodshop, just never built a boat.

Eager to accept all advice, as well as critiques, and criticism. Provide complete photo coverage. Plan to review the sites messages to find everything available to help me avoid the inevitable NewBe pitfalls. Will take some time for me to learn how to interact with your members.

Spent 10 yrs in Eugene, OR, absolutely loved Oregon but not the winter.

Anything anyone needs to know, just ask.

Much appreciated, Tom
