My set up is the Ocean Torque kayak and use LiFePO4 prismatic cells instead of lead acid. For less than $450 you can have a 40 mile range on (4) 3.2 volt, 100 a-hr cells in series. I use (2) of these 4 cell packs, one for the outbound leg and the other to return on, total of 80 miles of cruising @ 4 mph.
