I meant to say ref "We should also further stipulate for the model to work that the propeller would not be at a speed greater than 800 rpm at full speed. We could even figure out a derating for higher speed propellers like the ones your boat came with."
What derating do we do for boats like mine that have an aperture and can only fit a 12 inch prop (14 pitch) and have direct drive? With my 45 RPM/Volt (no load) and 0.185 Nm/A, I suspect, until such time as I fit an accurate shaft tacho, that my nominal 24V x 45 = 1080 RPM would load down to say 970 RPM at 100/110 amps continuous rating.
I could go to a 13 " but then I'd need a geared motor and I'd be outside Dave Gerr suggested hull/prop clearances and running either 36 or 48V nominal.
