This charger takes shore power a generator correct ?

You use a battery management system, BMS, and charge the cells in series. It includes an electrical circuit connected to each cell that, as a minimum, shuts down the charger when any one cell reaches its limit, typically 3.8 volts. They can also ring a buzzer when any one cell drops too low, say 2.8 volts. From these simple units you can go up to ones that add shunting to help balance during charging. More sophisticated ones can provide telemetry to a display that show the voltage on each cell continuously.
