Re: [Electric Boats] New Member

The South West International Boat Show is March 27-30 at South Shore Harbor Marina in League City - basically Kemah area. We will have our working display at the booth - a Thoosa 6000 motor, and we will also have the Oceanvolt SD15 on display (not a working model, but pretty cool!).  We have a couple of conversions in the Kemah area. We will not have a boat in the show proper, but it is quite possible we can have one available to show to people close by. We're working on that.

It's a nice show - the sail portion is small compared to the power boat side, but it is a growing show and there is certainly a lot of sailing activity in that area! We didn't make the show last year because of conflicts in our schedule but we are happy to be back in there this coming March. Hope you can make it and stop by to talk electric propulsion! The more the merrier!!

Sally,

Do you mean the "In the Water" boat show at Kemah, Texas?
Please keep reminding us as the date gets closer.

Do you have any idea what you will bring to the show?  (i.e. will you have a functioning boat, or just a booth?)
I'm several hours away, but it would be worth the drive.

Hello Robert and Deborah,

Welcome to this forum and to the world of electric propulsion! Galveston Bay is a great sailing area - we'll be in Legion, TX for the South West International Boat Show in March. Maybe we'll see you there.

To All,
We wanted too take a moment and introduce ourselves to the group since we are new members.  We are experienced sailors and have recently purchased a Pearson Vanguard sailboat and have decided on electric propulsion.  Our other boats have all been diesel and we are looking forward to getting rid of everything associated with the combustion engine.

Since we are electric boat novice we hope to use this forum as a sounding board for ideas, suggestions, assistance and advice from those that have all ready traveled down this road.

We keep our boats in Kemah or Galveston, Texas when we are not out on the water.

Regards,
Robert and Deborah
