Never discount stupidity. The CG and the insurance companies are
working to 'lowest common denominator' which assumes every one is pretty
dumb.

One of the deaths in the Queensland Cyclones a couple of months back
was carbon monoxide poisoning, not the winds or storm surge. After the
Cyclone took the power out, this guy was running a portable generator
indoors.

Petrol powered hire boats were effectively banned in Australia a few
years back, as too many people did stupid things with petrol on them.
Many a perfectly functioning classic 2 stroke petrol engine was scrapped
in the drive to replace them with 'safe' diesels.
