I tested today using a Rawson 30, 12,000lb displacement and a full keel. The 2kdub wasn't safe outside the harbor. The 5kw runs the boat like the old Palmer, with plenty of torque for harbor work, and steady power under way. The 12kwh battey helps a lot too.
I'll demo the Rawson after Christmas.
