Re: [Electric Boats] Using Honda 2000i heat

Mike,
Please consider purchasing a CO alarm. Follow the mounting instructions carefully, as CO is heavier than air, and the alarm must be mounted very low to work effectively.
Every year, boaters die of carbon monoxide poisoning, most often from gensets.

Be Well,
Arby

Yes, I absolutely agree caution should be exercised. This idea is just in the hmmm mode. That said from what I can see is the engine exhaust port on the 2000 pushes straight out. While the cooling fan air at least the lower part is lovered downward toward the deck. If this could be captured and if it is free of CO2 it could keep a helmsman toasty and dry if it could be redirected say by a flexible piece of dryer hose. I also think it would be a good idea for CO2 detector should be installed for safety. Even in the cockpit area. I wonder if there are portable CO2 detectors (used by campers/hikers?) that are availible. Anyone know of any? Anyway this is just an idea at this point and I running it up the flagpole.
