I am converting a 20' fiberglass crab boat to electric propulsion. This is a round bilge displacement hull displacing about 2000lbs fully loaded.
Plan is to use the Thunderstruck 5KW sailboat kit with 3:1 reduction to an 12x10 3-blade propeller. This combination looks good on their e-boat modeling spreadsheet for a decent range at 3 to 4 knots, and some reserve thrust for fighting a headwind on the way home.
