I think the Thunderstruck kit uses belts and pulleys, correct? It is trivial to change pulleys, both in labor and cost. If you are concerned then might I suggest specifying 4:1 and then go up or down from there after sea trials? Honestly I think somewhere just north of 3:1 will be your sweet spot. I am running a slightly slower motor, the ME0201014201 with a 2:1 enclosed gearbox with a 14x10 3 blade prop and am considering trying a 3:1 gear.
If the ratio is a little off it won't hurt anything except your efficiency as long as the motor doesn't get hot and you arent over speeding. Just get it running at between 3:1 and 4:1, and fiddle with the pulleys later. Let actual in the water testing tell you what works best.
