RE: [Electric Boats] Re: Planning Cal 2-27 conversion, advice needed

In my case (www.evalbum.com/492 --- flat bottom scow, not a sailboat, yet…), here's what I still go with:

·         BATTS: 36v system (6 used T105 golf cart batteries, $120 total --- get about 110ah out of them at 40amps or less)

·         CHGRS:

o   Lestronic 36v/20amp ($200 invested, used, Ebay.  This is my normal shore power charging solution and the first charger that gets plugged into my genset)

o   120/240vac Vicor Megapac modular DC power supply loaded with q:5 Vicor 300v/48v, 4amp DC-DC converter modules (Maybe $80 invested----only plugged in when underway and wanting max power from genset)

·         GENSET: Honda #EU2000i --- Fired up only when I need to travel more than 10 miles or so.  Sometimes only the Lestronic is plugged in, but when need max power, BOTH chargers are plugged in.  Max continuous power delivered to batteries: 40amps @ 36v, or 1440watts.

In case this helps…
