zinc only protects steel because it is higher on the galvanic scale than steel. The white metal used for electric motors has zinc as one of its major components so no protection.
wooden boats are damp, best effort would be to reduce it, as it is attacking
all the components in the motor not just the case.
Old time remedy is to put a 60watt light bulb in a water tight fixture next to the motor and leave it plugged in at all times.
the heat dries out the motor if you have ventilation.
