Terry, Welcome to the group. The early Prius's used a NiMH pack 274 volts @ 6.5 amps, 1.781 kWh. The plug in uses a lithium 4.4 kWh pack. Does this help? I'm not sure on these packs, but I think they used cylinder cells in a series/parallel configuration. I'm not a fan of parallel for increasing the bank's capacity, too much of a chance for later balance issues. I prefer single cell at the a/hr rating desired in a series string.
