So, check out the Electric Yachts Parsun 2995, this puppy runs on 48 volts can replace a 9.9 outboard and it Provides 100 amps of continuous current and a 10 second "power boost" of 140 amps to get you away from the dock. Remote Control, 12 ft. cable, spare power connector, and manual. 2 year limited manufacturers warranty.
or the Ray500 , if you want a strong electric outboard , this puppy is rated at 5 bhp, , now it need 60 volts of batteries to run , but hey
or the "aqua watt" motor is even way stronger , it is German company.
I would recommend the Parsun E/Y system , A). it's American, , B) the dealers are all over the great lakes , even New England, Florida , Washington, Oregon, and California. They have a reputation for building quality long lasting value into their products. I have been researching this whole concept for some time now as I plan to convert my Bristol yacht to electric , probably in the spring. We were on lake Eire for most of the summer, there is never a shortage of wind on Eire , but it is almost always coming from the west , and the vessel is not new so the old engine can be problematic to say the least.

A Ray, Parsuns, or Torqeedo 4.0 would do a fine job, but if it is more power you want Aquawatt has a 22 kw outboard. Bob aka "deckofficer" --- On Wed, 8/8/12, john <oak_box@yahoo.com> wrote:
