I forgot to mention the motor has electric tilt that works. It is a bolt on motor mount; no clamp screws. Regards, Yahzdi
For those interested in a fairly hefty electric outboard conversion, I just received this from Yahzdi in Bellingham, Washington:
"I have a conversion of a 50HP late 70's Merc that is 90% done. We built
a custom upper section for it. What remains is to finish the shift
linkage. I have nearly all the parts to put it together. It has a PERM
PMG132 motor and an Altrax AXE controller. Speed control uses Hall
Effect devices to avoid moving parts that can corrode. I also have 8
large (100# each) 12V batteries with connection cables and master
control switch.
I also have a really cool stern thruster built form a prototype 24V
motor designed for just that purpose. It is complete with transom mount,
but has no motor speed or reversing control with it.
This isn't a fire sale. I would like to find someone looking for
something like this and pass it on for a fair price. I spent $2000 on
motor, controller and batteries alone.
Details and photos can be made available, but it
needs to be seen to be appreciated. I live south of Bellingham, 5 miles
off the Alger exit (exit 240).
Contact info: ( Yahzdi )360-398-6043.
Please pass this on to anyone who might be interested."
