[Electric Boats] Measuring PWM controller output

 

Gentlemen

I have recently completed a small electric powered catamaran with a PWM controller and a golf buggy motor. The batteries are monitored with a NASA Marine Instruments BM1 which will give a very good indication of overall power comsumed. However when I want to measure the power at the motor my instruments will have trouble due to the square wave being delivered from the PWM controller.

Is there anybody in the Group who can advise me on the best correction factors to use to correct the voltage and current?
