[Electric Boats] Removing Atomic 4 Engine - simple

 

The engine comes off the oil pan.......
Drain the oil of course.
You remove all the accessories, starter etc.
Remove the flywheel, it is easy to access and lightens the weight.
Disconnect all lines, exhaust flange.
Undo the engine from the oil pan, and with a rope and a second person, just pull it up out of there.
Then remove the transmission, which is basically just a few clutch plates and a planetary, I think it looks like.
Finally, lift out the massively built cast iron oil pan.
You shouldn't need a hoist, but having one decreases the sweat.
I haven't actually taken one out, but I did buy a spares engine that I handled up steps into a shed.
Just watch your back, even in separated units, they are fairly heavy, but more importantly, a bit awkward. But within the scope of just manually lifting.
