If anyone is in/around South Florida this weekend we will be displaying the new 'Twin Cruise' Motors from Torqeedo as well as the new 'POWER' Lithium Manganese marine battery.
The Twin Cruise setup consists of 2 Cruise 4.0's, higher pitch props, integrated throttle control. steering linkage, and tweaked software. They do not counter rotate (not necessary for these relatively low power setups). With the right boat planing speeds are possible or with a larger boat (sail or power cat) you can now install this truly integrated system as primary power.
The POWER LiMa battery is 2700 watt hours, 25.9 volts nominal, 104 ah, 44 lbs. Max discharge is 160amps, expected life-cycle is 800 cycles to 0%, cost is $2,499 usd MSRP. This is truly a marine battery with many physical, electrical, and software safety systems and redundancy built in. It is IP67 waterproof, short proof, and has a 'dual BMS' should one fail. They can be connected serially and in parallel, and have the intelligence to self configure as such.
You can find Torqeedo at the Bahia Mar location in the 'Engine Tent' area booth 1240. I'll be there for the duration of the show.
