The local Minn Kota service guy I bought my MK101 from says they draw 33 Amps @ 36V wide open. I can tell you from experience the controller will fry at much more than that. I had tried an aftermarket (Kipawa) prop that rubbed the housing of the motor slightly. It fried the control board in 20 minutes run time. And the MK control boards are expensive to replace.
