[Electric Boats] Chargers above 48 volts, different motor types Q, tips and advice?

Hello,

As i'm quite confident the glasstron conversion won't work, i want to make a good economy electric outboard, alike the Aqua Volt (and chinese: parsun, for that matter).
Now, on one corner, there are the wellknown Mars/ETEk motors and different controllers for it, and on the other corner ate the PMAC motors, which specifically need the Millipack 3-phase controller, of the Kelly Control, in order to drive them.
Now, as far as i've read about these motor's, the DC motors are a tad more eficcient, but have brushes.
I can't really come up with real pro's and con's for the one versus the other.
Anybody that can chime in and give some real advantages and differences between the 2? (besides electric, that's quite clear/obvious.)

Also, there are 2 flavors in the motors above: 24-48 volts, and 48-72 volts. The last one naturally makes more power.
But, how about charging the batteries to drive the 72V?
48V is not uncommon over here, but 72V is rarely seen. (it probably will be for sale, but i think the price won't be a bargain...)
What's advicable, the one versus the other?

As my intentions are to convert a 15-25Hp outboard to electric, i can use the watercooling part from the pump that's in the tail anyway, so i can do proper cooling on the motor and the controller.
I do have to make a good fluid cooled system around the motor itself, so there's some fabricating needed here. (anyone done such yet?)
I think the energetic efficiency also will be (much) better when the controller and motor is relatively cool.

Also, i really love to see all those inventive project pictures of you all, so keep on posting them!! :)

Thanks!
