That is really bad new. I really would have preferred to buy from them. As I know they deliver. Cutting a check that large to an unknown vendor sucks.
EVComponents is currently experiencing corporate shakeup and lawsuits.
The latest word from them on the EV Discussion List is that they have some uncommitted batteries in the latest shipment and that after that shipment they will not be ordering any more, period. I don't know if this reflects a lack of confidence in the batteries or their suppliers or if there's some business issue that's the cause.
Just want people to know that except for a one-time order of supplies at hand, you need to go to a different supplier.
I don't know what's happening with their company, just that there are lawsuits now filed between the owner and several highly reputable "employees" of the company. It's really nasty---these folks were all working together and providing not only the lithium batteries at a good price and with a guarantee, but had also set up production of the famous "Zilla" DC motor speed controllers. That production has also come to a screeching halt and circumstances surrounding that part of the business is evidently what has spawned the lawsuits.
In case this helps-

Eric,
I have ordered batteries from EV Components before, I think my figures are mostly accurate, You did ask for a volume discount? ;-) Also it takes 15 3.3 volt cell to make 48 volt pack. With 16 cells you really have a 52 volt pack. Always nice to have a little extra pep I guess. I have not factored the BMS into the price. I'm sure it will add a grand to the price.
