Thanks now I feel better. Yes the devil is in the details/specs when you are buying anything Marine. As far as the Dual Pro charger and my test with the old flooded batteries. After six hours on charge the batteries never got beyond 20 and 10 % charge according to the Dual Pro so I shut it down (it was quite warm). Measuring the batteries this morning the one that read 8 volts was now reading 9 volts and the one that started at 4 volts read about 4.5. volts after six hours on charge. So I think these need to be recycled. Just wanted to try it anyway since I had the batteries laying around. Today I hope to bring it on the boat and hook it into the 48 volt bank which should be nearly topped up and see how it performs.

Don't beat yourself up yet. The Promariner 300 quad only charges at at less than 450 watts. They call it a 30A charger but that 30A is distributed (30A x 12V/4 leads). Check page 4 of their product manual for a drawing that shows how this works with a 3 bank model http://www.promariner.com/download.php?file=75_1079_ProTournament.pdf
Your Dual Pro quad puts out close to 900 watts (15A x 12V x 4 leads).

I have yet to see any 1.5kW to 2kW 4 bank charger. Does anyone here have any info about such an animal?
