I fitted an emergency stop button (like you see in workshops) where I
can kick it with my leg. Only since it's a low current switch, what it
does is disconnect the power to the 'control' circuit, causing the main
contactor to drop out. If I had a controller on failure AND the main
contactor fused, this stop button wouldn't work, I'd have to go for the
battery isolate instead and that's not quite so easily reached.

It's kinda unlikely both would happen at once - both my controller and
main contactor are over rated by a factor of 4.
