[Electric Boats] Re: new lithium battery breakthrough?

Ok , I will try to get this back on topic.
The original post by Jason is aboat batteries, lithium batteries.
Then what happened is the first person went on a tangent with
solar panels. Then more tangents occured that really don't make any
evaluation of Mr Kungs " possible" break through.

I personally would think it would be nice to have some comments on the information that was layed before us in Jasons link.
Micro holes in thin layers? any comments??
Somthing about the anode. Now they are going to concentrate
on the cathode?? any comments??

If I wanted to say somthing skeptical I could say somthing like
"well we have heard this sort of thing before and will we ever see anything we can lay our hands on in our liftime"

I am sorry but we do need batteries that weigh less and last longer.
End of story.

And yes Steve we need solor panels that are more efficient.

And on this forum we need as many boat designs that allow room for
the panels, sails(if desired)light weight generators, etc, etc. that we
can come up with.

And hopefully at a cost that is realistic. It is a puzzle that needs
advancment in alot of areas.

I see no point in down playing one aspect over another. That is
what I did not get about your post.

End of rant,
Don
