Thanks to Andrew,Arby and Randy.

  I now understand a lot more.. The controller is a sevcon gen 4.. I am happy with the performance and am getting .5 of a knot more than expected at 1000 watts..

  It is going in for an adjustment over the winter as the vendor mentioned a new algorithm for a bit more regen..
