I saw a chart on the internet a while back that compared the cost of gas, cng, propane and electricity for the same energy and electricity was by far the cheapest.  These numbers were based on buying from normal sources at an average market rate.  I have run engines on propane and one factor to consider is that propane is such a clean fuel that the engine will last much longer.  The only problem I see is that you will lose power related to throttle opening and the Honda engine may not have enough reserve power to push the gen set to it's rated capacity.  There may be a conversion kit for it.  There are huge advantages to converting from gas.  The stuff they sell as gas now we would not have used to light a fire with a while back.  Unlike the current gas, propane does not degrade and destroy the tank when it sits  a long time.

Fair winds,
Capt. Bill

Steve
Any idea what the run time and cost difference of running propane rather than Gasoline? I wonder if you could run hydrogen as well.
