Re: [Electric Boats] Re: boat designs

 

Matthew , about a year ago I contemplated buying a beautiful 1890 gaff rigged net boat , that had a Kelvin sleeved engine put in it in 1922 , to replace oars as the auxiliary  power.
The boats of that era were easily driven , they had to be !.
I reckon a few of those designs are tailor made for an electric installation , and they have a certain style , as well.

  I was surprised recently to see some one promoting these at the Sydney
'Royal Easter Show'. What , some one promoting a displacement hull boat
?. I nearly fell over.

  The boating market is so focused on speed and even more speed, that I
was most surprised to see some one promoting a 'slow' boat.
