Hello fellows- this post is to introduce myself to the group. I was sailing in North Atlantic- mainly in the spanish coast- in a 19feet Michalack's Dorado. I think this kind of boat is very seaworthy I don't know if only for her size and shape but also because is very light. In the begining I was using a 4.5hp old two strokes mercury but then I did a yuloh and was able to sail only with it. An small headsail I did was not necessary in any circunstance- but never been into a gale and I suppose in that case can be important. When I did the boat was with the hope to experiment with different kind of propulsion. Also I did several attempts to use a wave propulsion system developed for myself and it works. But my primary wish was ever to know and use electric power. After using this boat- narrow- light - and living on board three years I think is very realistic and better than sails.Better if autonomy is createf from solar panels etc. and good batteries. I coming here not no teach nothing but to learn. Now I'm my homeland in Uruguay - somewhere like a country in South America. And then sorry about my english- is bad but I think understable. Thanks for all and good sailing for everybody. |
