Every one thought I was crazy when I said I was going to convert my 5m
'half cabin launch' to electric. A lot of people, including
'professionals' who should have known better where suggesting diesel
engines with 3 to 4 times the power of the boats original petrol engine.
(Which was more than sufficient). I was actually having trouble finding
engines small enough.
Many people, including those 'in the industry' don't seem to 'get'
displacement boats. If it's not a sail boat, it's supposed to have huge
power and plane. (and make lots of noise and wake :-)
