In case anyone is interested in attending the Cortez Fla electric boat event--the website www.electricboats.org has been updated with entry forms and some new info on the race. Thanks, Tom Hesselink

We set the course up so that a 4' draft boat could participate but any boat that draws 30" or more should pay good attention to the channel markers and have an accurate depth sounder onboard--Sarasota Bay has many shallow areas and getting a 25 mile course that looped back to the same location wasn't easy.

There is only one bridge that needs to be considered and it is at a turn around point on the course so if a boat can't get under the bridge we will ask that it perform a 540 degree turn before the bridge instead going under the bridge and doing a 180.

Saturday is set aside for the boats to participate in the Small Craft Festival. One of the main reason for the location is to expose the general public to electric boats as we will be allowed to give demo rides at the festival and the area with it's many canals is a great place for electric boats.
