The switch in the head at the end of the twist grip is bad.  Get a new on and it may fix it.  That being said, some of them have a large pot in the heat of the motor unit.  If that has gone out, you get what you get.  That one is cast in epoxy into the nose of the lower unit.  I know, I have on of many with that problem.  usually happens when it leaks or is used with to many batteries for too long on some old units.

Anybody know why a mini Kota seems to only have one speed when you twist the throttle ??

I twist throttle nothing happens then at one spot it comes on strong, then confluence twisting and it dies, seems to have just one sweet spot where it works and it's dearly high trust so it jerks the moter
