I just joined the forum a week or so ago, and have been lurking since then. I am plotting the removal of my Vetus 3.10 (its been plotting my removal for years!) from my 30 LOD pilot cutter (~7tons). I would LOVE to go sailing for a weekend and not smell like fuel after bleeding the fuel system for the umteenth time.
The sketch of the conversion plan is to build up a 48 volt system, capable of moving the boat a 6 knots in flat water, but planning on running at 4 most of the time. I have fantasies of a 15 mile range, and using a little Honda generator to extend the range.
