You can use SEVCON GEN4 controllers for AC motors (with the appropriate configuration...).
Do you have more informations about the motors (voltage, current, power, mass...)?
There is no problem to use AC motor in a converting project (boat, car, go-kart...). The main problem is the cost and the availability of the motors.
