Re: [Electric Boats] Electric Goliath ASD Tug vs. Goliath Diesel Tug

Good luck  Dan !

My comments were not meant to discourage, in any way.
Its just that the commercial boating (yacht, ship) industry is very different to the recreational one.
Both in the us, and elsewhere.

And I agree, a 8k investment is great to try a boat project.

In the cnc world, we often get people who want to make things, 1 atom in size, with a 100$ budget.
Usually, there is little experience involved with making things, and a common refute are the specs from a hobby catalogue etc.

I have made a lifetime career of building things, usually in slightly unconventional ways.
This has mostly been very succeful, technically, and sometimes commercially.

Also, I (often) sometimes need to do things 4 times, to get it right.
If you ever come to Barcelona, I will be happy to buy you a beer.

BTW (OT).
I am making a commercial quality Tool and Cutter grinder.
These are tools that make things like drill bits, reamers, and lathe tool bits.
9-axis, cnc, based on surface plate, linear guides, automatic robot partchanger, can run 24x7.
I hope to get it running soon.
I have about 90% of the needed components, just now upgrading my cnc mill and cnc lathe first.
Grinder will be about 600 kg, and 80k€, retail, when done.
Similar ones are 4-500k today.

I scratch built a cnc mill, 2000 kg, in steel. On my own, my design.

A year back, I sold cnc stuff for he world largest manufacturer, from the US, for about 8 M$ worth.
Fwiw..
