100 mile open ocean passage with 10' seas and 35 mph wind! Woo Hoooo! The solar electric boat has arrived.
Sounds like the perfect launch for the P.I. Fisher Folk. I hope they're reading your posts.
It was surprising to me how well it works too. My eight pack of T-105s is charged by 10:30 in the morning when it's clear out and the mppt charge controller on the solar panel really gives you much better performance on the electric drive system too when you're running directly off the sun.
Looking forward to seeing the specs on the boat.

I will get some details on the boat and share it with the group. There are Trojan 105s in every possible covered spot on the boat. The motor is a newer design and I suspect it is a BLDC direct drive mounted on the sail drive. I am surprised that the solar panels can keep such a large battery bank charged.
