You still need BMS in addition. NiMH looks better all the time.

What your quoting works out to $0.31 per watt and my last price was $0.39 per watt. Makes a nice difference on a 50kw/hr bank. $15,500.00 vs $19,500.00. Can you link me to the site of $0.31 per watt batteries?

there're already some cheap lithium batteries from ThunderSky, CALB, HiPower and other Chinese factories. The price is close to $1/AH. I do not think the price will have any big drop in 1-2 years. The advancement of material is not so rapid as technology of IT industry. Best regards, Jerry

They exist low rate lipo up 10-20C is cheap - the problem is the chargers they dont go to high enough voltages and the p[acks have to be made from multiples in parallel and the balancing is difficult as for long life every cell needs to be balanced - but it can be done On 04/06/2012 9:12 PM, Fred Liesegang wrote: That would be a game changer if it actually does pan out!
