Re: [Electric Boats] Cooling motors

Hi Bill,

I can sell you a cooling coil for $450.   Its made of copper with a copper tube around the perimeter.    The copper is 5/8 thick and will transfer the register if you are hooking it onto a gearbox.   It keeps the motor around 25 C cooler than just air cooling and increases the output of the ME 0913 by 1.5 KW.

You can see it at

I have a Motenergy ME0907 (x Mars Electric ME0201013001) PMAC motor 48v that I would like to Water Cool.

Does anyone cave any experience with that?  Photos?

Initially I thought a coil of thermally conductive plastic tubing wrapped around the stator might work.  But then I worried about the lines sweating condensate on to the stator . . .

Since I'm not great at re-inventing the wheel, I thought I should ask the experts here first.  :)

Thanks

Bill
