Travel 801 vs Cruise 2.0
Assume max Travel 801 power ~ 1 KW = 24 volts * A(amps).
Max Cruise 2.0 power ~ 2 KW = 24 volts * 2A
Max 801 RPM = 700 RPM; max Cruise 2.0 RPM = 1300 RPM
801 two stage gear reduction of 14;1; Cruise 2.0 single stage gear reduction of 7:1.
To run at 700 RPM the Cruise 2.0 must cut its motor voltage in half to approximate the max speed of the 801.
Now the power available to the Cruise is 12 volts * 2A ~ 1KW i.e. the same as the 801 (24 volts * A).
Therefore at 700 RPM the Cruise has no power advantage over the 801 with the identical prop (v8p350). The speed and torque delivered to the prop are the same. Thanks. Steve S.
