Yep - for exactly that reason. You can get a nicely-compact one in a
plastic box at your local auto parts store. Cheap insurance. And there's
no reason that it wouldn't hold up: it's a lot stronger than your
average turnbuckle.

I also carry what a friend of mine calls an "OFIS" ("OH F*** I'M
SCARED!") pump - a 3/4 HP 120VAC sump pump with 50' of 2" hose rolled up
and stowed right next to the come-along. Another $150 well spent, I
figure.
