[Electric Boats] Re: motor to prop shaft connection

I think you are saying that you need a propeller shaft coupler and its mate that would normally be on the transmission.  I also think that the AMeP motor had a 1 inch shaft (installed one years ago). I do not know the Bayfield's shaft diameter (I also think it is SAE and not metric) but you will need to have the coupler match the propeller shaft and the motor shaft.  Find a good propeller company or full service chandlery if you want a traditional 4 bolt flange coupler set. Buck Algonquin Shaft Couplers is a good brand.  The couples have a ring the must be lined up.

I do not understand why you would want a dampener for the shaft if you align it right which is simple enough for a light weight AMeP motor.  Dampener are often used with diesels and are used because of the vibration and alignment issues of the diesel.

You can also consider a clamshell coupler RULAND MANUFACTURING which are available from Grainger that is available in stainless steel and makes for a nice clean installation. I am not a big fan of the chain coupler but I know they are less expensive but do rust.
