but maybe you guys have an answer.

I have an older power lift with hitch mounting for a mobility scooter. Trying to avoid a hard wired install since I want to remove to put on a hitch to tow a boat (marine content)

Anyway the unit has a motor that is rated at 30 Amp.

How to power it. Plugging in a lighter outlet is 10 amp
Sure the trailer wiring harness is less.

Thinking a 2nd battery that can remove between uses and charge out of vehicle.

Is that practical.

All guru suggestions welcome and appreciated
