Re: [Electric Boats] "Batteries Not Included"

Hi James.

If you've been watching this board, I"m sure that you"ve got access to plenty of answers using the search function.

And yes, we would love to here some specifics about your project. The site where you"re looking for financial donations to your project is short on specifics, so maybe you can tell us more here.

What is your boat? Your pics show an outboard with a couple of small (5-10hp) electric motors in plywood mounts, What kind of motors? How much battery? What kind of batteries? What are your performance targets?

You mention 6 power sources? I can think of shore power, on-board IC generator, solar, wind, regen (not really applicable to a power boat). What else?

So far, I haven't seen or heard anything in your project that hasn't been done in some fashion by others here on the board, so if you need answers, just ask specific questions. We're here to help.
