Re: [Electric Boats] "Batteries Not Included"

Hi James

-I didn't mean to imply that you aren't on to something,
it's a fool who dismisses something without at least a cursory check.

-I
also
don't belong to the school of
"if it worked you'd see it being used our sold"
as
history is littered with great ideas that couldn't beat vested interest, and the type of person that comes up with our perfects anything different usually isn't the savvy marketing type.

- I would always rather give experienced based advice
that quote thermodynamic laws, the trouble is these days there are so few that have had "dirty hands" and too many that have had education without experience, Confucius said it best "empty barrels make the most noise".

-
If you're sure you're onto something that works:

1)
Don't be put off by those quoting laws they don't fully understand

2)
Build a prototype and test
it
under a real load, a scope or multimeter voltage reading often disappears when a cct is loaded
3)
If it doesn't work don't necessarily doubt yourself,
as around then is when the "I told you so" replays in your head..... on a loop.
4) Get help
from someone/somewhere that is able to provide it. Depending on the cct/device you may well have to lie or isolate the part not functioning as planned, as if you submit details the entire cct/device and/or explain why you think it's not working, you may well be shown the door. Remember halls of higher learning build on the past and on enhancing/improving existing ideas/systems and not trailblazing, as they already "know" what can't be done.

-You do need at least one other person around you that can be positive when all the
educated
dumb ones are saying I told you so
,
it's cold out there, especially alone.

-You must NOT think that if you come up with a better mousetrap that the world will beat a path to your door. Even the "greats" who's laws the knockers hide behind took some serious hits when they suggested things a little too radical, although they were later proven to be right, don't let anyone put you off.

- I'm not after your secrets, and I have my own Confidentiality Agreement you can use that I'll sign if you want, but I'm happy to give unbiased advice. Most "alternative" energy devices are said to work on one or two well trodden paths, and I've tested a few of most methods so may well be able to save you time and money.

Cheers

Sorry James but I have to agree with Julian. Have you done the math? If you want to charge your batteries by plugging into shore power you may have a nice electric boat, but you won't be able to fit enough solar panels or a big enough windmill to provide the power you need. "Rotoverter", "Ambient energy", "Radiant energy", "Electrolytic energy" all go in the same file with "Perpetual Motion".

Folks don't like to think about it, but there's a REASON our electric utilities haven't already switched over to those devices.
